Aminu Salisu, Kamilu Yusuf, Baba Jibril, and 22 other accused collaborators were taken into custody on Tuesday after being found in possession of fake Kano Road Traffic Agency documents, according to a Kano Magistrate Court ruling.
Tijjani Ibrahim informed the court at the defendants’ arraignment before the Chief Magistrate court, presided over by Halima Wali, that the defendants are accused of committing the crime on July 22, 2023.
According to him, the crime violated Sections 97, 393, and 321 of the Penal Code.
They entered a plea of not guilty after hearing the contents of First Information Reports read to them.
So, in accordance with Sections 35, (6), and 36 (5) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution as amended and Section 171, (3) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, Kano State 2019, the defendants’ attorney, Nazifi Rabiu, requested that the court allow the defendants on bail.
Halima Wali, the magistrate in charge, called an adjournment of the meeting for July 27 in order to rule on the defendants’ attorneys’ request for bail.
