3 Dead, 2 Injured in 3-Storey Building collapse in Kano -NEMA Confirms

Three people are reported deceased and two injured in a three-story building collapse incident at Kuntau Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area, Kano, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The tragedy and the number of casualties were reported to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Kano by Dr. Nuradeen Abdullahi, the NEMA Territorial Coordinator for Kano.

At at 9:20 a.m. today, a kind Samaritan called us in panic to report that a three-story structure that was under construction at Kuntau Quarters had collapsed.

“As soon as we had the information, we dispatched our rescue squad to the area.

According to Abdullahi, “so far, five people have been rescued and brought to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital; of these, three have been ruled dead and two have been injured and are receiving treatment.”

He mentioned that To free individuals who were trapped, search and rescue operations were still in progress.

“To ensure the removal of other trapped victims, the NEMA rescue team, Kano State Fire Service, Police, red Cross, NSCDC, and SEMA, among others, are still at the scene of the incident,” Abdullahi said.
