Benue State Governor, Rev. Hyacinth Alia, has taken a decisive step in response to the recent attack on the residence of Hon. Solomon Wombo, announcing a substantial N10 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
The incident occurred over the weekend when unidentified gunmen assaulted the home of the federal lawmaker, leaving one of his housekeepers injured in the process. The assailants, seeking the whereabouts of the lawmaker, instilled fear and terror in the community.
In a firm condemnation of the attack, Governor Alia, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, affirmed that his administration will not tolerate such criminal activities. He assured the public that every effort will be made to track down and prosecute those responsible, emphasizing that the full weight of the law will be brought upon the suspects.
The governor urged security agencies within the state to intensify efforts to apprehend the culprits swiftly. He also called for calm among the populace, vowing relentless efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of its residents.
