Families and friends of the recently appointed commissioners in Ondo State have been advised by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa not to place undue pressure on them as this could compromise their effectiveness as members of the State Executive Council, or SEC.
Aiyedatiwa advised the newly appointed cabinet members to abstain from actions that could jeopardize state affairs, while also cautioning them against corrupt tendencies.
This was said by the governor during the weekend’s swearing-in ceremony for no less than twelve commissioners to the State Executive Council, or SEC.
Aiyedatiwa emphasized that his administration will expedite growth and good governance, and he asked the new cabinet members to demonstrate their merit for their appointments via devoted service.
Segun Ayerin, Olaolu Akindolire, Banji Ajaka, Boye Ologbese, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, and Banji Ajaka are the new commissioners, Sunday Akinwalire as well.
Deaconess Lola Fagbemi, Mr. Saka Ogunleye, Olayato Aribo, Adewale Akinlosotu, Rasheed Badmus, and Barr Gbenga Olaniyi are among the others.
“Corruption and any act that is not conducive to good governance and overriding public interest must be excused,” stated Aiyedatiwa.
Therefore, in order to allow the new appointees to focus and carry out their responsibilities in the state’s overall best interest, I would like to kindly ask all of their friends, families, and well-wishers to please refrain from placing undue pressure on them.
“Let me extend my congratulations to the recently appointed individuals for their deservingness of being recognized as honorable commissioners in Ondo State. While some of you are new commissioners, some of you are returning.
“Mostly, you have to explain why you were appointed or reappointed, depending on the circumstances perhaps. I have to tell you that this administration is eager to fulfill its purpose and give the people’s lives greater meaning.
“We are carrying an irreversible torch of accelerated development for the people.” You need to take precautions and get started right away in each of your offices. You need to cultivate positive working relationships with all of the employees, but especially with the accounting officers and permanent secretaries.
“Remember that the people of Ondo State and the government share a common desire for development, credible performance, and sound governance.”
