Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Oba Aderemi Adedapo, the Alayemore of Ido-Osun, describing the monarch’s death as both touching and painful.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke extended his heartfelt condolences to the traditional council, the people of Ido-Osun, and the immediate family of Oba Adedapo. He emphasized the late monarch’s unwavering commitment to the peace and progress of his domain.
“My condolences to the people of Ido-Osun in Egbedore local government on the loss of their traditional ruler, Oba Aderemi Adeen Adedapo, Sapoyoro I. Oba Adedapo was a highly dedicated monarch who prioritized the welfare and progress of his subjects and Ido-Osun throughout his life,” Governor Adeleke stated.
Governor Adeleke highlighted Oba Adedapo’s distinguished professional background in law and architecture, noting how the monarch applied his expertise to benefit his people. “His demise is a huge loss, and I join the people of Ido-Osun in honoring a life full of impactful contributions that defined Oba Adedapo.”
The Governor urged the community to honor the late monarch’s memory by continuing his legacy of good deeds and sincere efforts for societal improvement. “As much as we grieve his passage, may I enjoin everyone to sustain his legacy of good deeds and genuine pursuit for the good of society. May God Almighty be pleased with his soul and grant him eternal rest. It is my fervent hope that everyone touched by Oba Adedapo’s demise finds comfort in the impactful life he led,” he added.
Oba Adedapo reportedly fell ill early last week and passed away at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) in Ile-Ife on Friday. His death marks the end of a significant chapter in the history of Ido-Osun, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service.
