Globeleq, Africa’s leading independent power company, stated that Clean Energy Holdings Limited (CEHL) has acquired its ownership stake in Globeleq Power Solutions Nigeria (GPSN) following a review of its strategy and portfolio.
Globeleq’s director of communications and government relations, George Cazenove, stated in a statement that the transfer relates to a group of assets that serve commercial and industrial customers, primarily in Nigeria’s southwest.
He stated that Globeleq and CEHL have collaborated closely to complete the transfer without causing the GPSN business or its customers too much disruption.
In Africa, Globeleq is the most prominent generator’s developer, owner, and operator. Its skilled professionals have constructed a diverse portfolio of independent power plants, generating more than 1,500MW in 14 locations across six nations, since 2002.
It currently has 722 MW under construction and over 2,000 MW of power projects under development, including additional Nigerian opportunities.
In contrast, the Clean Energy Group has made significant investments in natural gas utilization and solar hybrid installations, making it a leader in the development of sustainable energy delivery in the Nigerian market.
