According to the police report, the suspect, Abubakar Abdulaziz, 30, of Sabuwar Santa, Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina State, had unlawfully entered the home of one Adamu Alhassan of Bacirawa village in Musawa council while he was asleep and abducted his three-year-old son to an undisclosed location.

The victim’s father was told in a letter left behind by the suspect to pay a ransom of N800,000 if he wanted to ensure his son’s release, according to a statement made yesterday by the state police public relations officer, Gambo Isah.

He also included a phone number where people may reach him.

Alhassan reportedly phoned the suspect and bargained with him for N150,000 in an effort to save his kid, but he eventually realized that his efforts were futile because the suspect had already buried the boy alive.

Isah claimed that after receiving the report, police investigators sprang into action and were successful in securing the suspect’s arrest.
