Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, has advised employees of the Immigration and Correctional Services departments to abstain from corruption and carry out their responsibilities with professionalism.
On Thursday in Abuja, the minister provided the advise while presenting certificates of appointment to six new Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) and two from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
He said that the nation has begun reforming its services and he asked every employee to help the changes succeed.
Aregbesola urged them to strive with patriotism and diligently serve Nigeria.
The minister specifically charged immigration staff with eradicating all corrupt activities in the issuing of passports.
“You must live above board through the conscious display of professionalism, integrity, dedication and hard work for the betterment of the country,” he added.
The improvements, according to him, were intended to benefit Nigerians.
“I have no doubt that the newly promoted DCGs will step up their groove and deliver resounding successes in this regard,” he said
