Kwara’s Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq claims that no public statements on the zoning scheme for parliamentary slots have been made by governors from the North Central zone.
The governor refuted a media story that said they disagreed with the APC leadership’s stance on the matter.
This was said in a statement released on Tuesday in Ilorin by his chief press secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye.
The governors, who are regional party leaders, wouldn’t take a confrontational stance against the party’s position, according to AbdulRazaq.
He claimed that in order to get a better deal for the North Central, they were having strategic talks with various parties.
“Media reports that we reject the APC position are therefore a stretch of our approach.
“They are not factual. We have our channels of communication and that is what we are exploring.
“We are party people and will not make any public statement or do anything that will rubbish our leadership or cause avoidable tension in the polity. That is not our way,” he said.
