Dangote came to Lagos with nothing 45 years ago, says Sanwo-Olu

Aliko Dangote, the CEO of the Dangote Group, has received praise from the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for establishing his refinery in Nigeria, particularly Lagos.

During his remarks at the refinery’s ongoing commissioning, he bestowed the praise.

He continued by saying that Dangote, who arrived in Lagos from Kano 45 years ago with little, has since built an empire that will make all of Africa proud.

He stated, “The first narrative takes place 45 years ago and is about a young Nigerian. You can see the coincidence in the story. Who traveled from another megacity, Kano, to Lagos 45 years ago, observed the diversity and riches of our nation, and came with nothing? That person has since created the largest empire in the world for Africa.

Today saw the commissioning of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemical Project, a division of Aliko Dangote’s Dangote Industries Limited.

It is situated in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, and is designed to process crude oil grades from the continents of Africa, Asia, and America. Each day, a surplus of over 38 million liters of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel are delivered to Nigeria.

The refinery, which is designed to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, converts crude oil into a variety of petroleum products, including kerosene, jet fuel, diesel, and gasoline.
