On Wednesday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially opened 13 projects in the state’s eight Local Government Areas.
“Today, I had the honor of commissioning 13 crucial projects across Lagos, delivering on our promise to bring progress and prosperity to the people,” the governor wrote on his Twitter account.
“From schools to jetties, medical facilities to roads, these projects will transform lives and build a Greater Lagos.”
Amuwo-Odofin, Badagry, Agege, Ojo, Alimosho, Ifako Ijaiye, Ikeja, and Ajeromi Ifelodun LGAs all saw the inauguration of the projects.
The projects’ inauguration was a continuation of the “A Greater Lagos Rising” concept and was part of an 11-day celebration of Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, in their first term of office.

The governor stated that the purpose of the various projects was to guarantee the supply of cutting-edge medical facilities that would improve the state’s healthcare system’s ability to ostensibly satisfy the needs of the populace.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the LASUTH, Ikeja hospital infrastructure projects, Hamzat spoke in place of the governor.
According to him, the facility was made available as part of his administration’s commitment to and fulfillment of pledges made to the residents of Lagos State under the THEMES development agenda’s Health and Environment Pillar.
He expressed his gratitude to Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President for the Sustainable Development Goals, for her donation of a 124-bed SDG Multipurpose Medical Building.
“I have no doubt that with this facility, and several others, we are on the path to improving our nation’s Human Capital Development Index and achieving the set targets under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He pointed out that the structure contained four medical schools for anaesthetic technology, echocardiography, orthopaedic cast technology, and postgraduate nursing, as well as advanced medical care facilities.
He claims that this will considerably improve LASUTH’s reputation as a premier, award-winning medical school and a center of excellence for the provision of healthcare services.
Orelope-Adefulire claimed before that Lagos State, the nation’s most populated state, deserved the provision of the essential medical facilities.
In the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Sanwo-Olu, who was in attendance through his deputy, declared that the administration will keep growing the transportation industry.
He declared that his administration was dedicated to making commuters’ lives in Lagos State more fulfilling by enhancing their travel experiences, reducing labor costs, offering better riding surfaces, enhancing interconnectivity, and more generally.
According to Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, the Sanwo-Olu administration had honored its commitment to enhance citizens’ quality of life and spur significant socioeconomic growth through infrastructure renovation and upgrade.
“The commitment of this administration to put in place infrastructure that will enhance the well-being of Lagosians and empower them across economic activities is brought to the fore,” Adeyoye said.
The restoration of the Mba-Cardoso road, according to Mr. Fatai Ayoola, the chairman of the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, has provided the residents of that area with a great deal of respite.
He claimed that the 3-kilometer road’s repair was “a dividend of democracy,” reaching Ajegunle’s residents’ doors thanks to the Lagos State Government’s administrative acumen and capacity.
Gov. Sanwo-Olu expressed happiness at the completion of the improvements that would protect the people of Ijegun Egba and its surroundings while opening the renovated jetties with waiting shelters and shorelines in Badagry.
The governor informed locals that his administration was committed to finishing the jetty project and following safety laws to ensure safe navigation. The governor was represented by the Special Adviser on Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Adebayo Sodade.
He claimed that the opening of the numerous jetties demonstrated the Lagos State government’s dedication to promoting water transportation, enhancing land transportation, and minimizing travel time for Lagos citizens.
