The President, Bola Tinubu, and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have been asked to involve youths in their governments by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter.
In a statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday, the council’s president, Biliamin Oba, made this appeal in addition to congratulating Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and the speaker of the 10th assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, on their election to various leadership positions.
“We send our best wishes, and we look forward to a smooth working relationship with Nigerian youth. We appeal that you look into youth inclusion in governance and critically address the yearnings of our youth. We are confident that this tenure at the helm of affairs will bear more dividends of democracy and will further renew our hope as people.”
“Your emergence as the representatives of the people is an indication that you have displayed quality leadership in different areas of governance, which is the reason the people are entrusting their mandate to you,” Oba said.
He praises Sanwo-Olu for continually prioritizing the youth population and adds that the council totally supports the governor’s THEME S strategy.
The council commits to collaborating with you (Sanwo-Olu) and fully supports your transformative agenda while anticipating working relationships in the conceptualization of ideas, execution, and evaluation. Added Oba
