Subsidy: Osun to introduce free bus rides, adjust working days

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has announced that his administration will soon offer free bus trips and modify working hours for public employees to lessen the impact of the elimination of fuel subsidies.

The Governor, while speaking at Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, stakeholders meeting at the party Secretariat in Osogbo on Friday, said the state government is working to make living easy for the populace in the state.

“We (Osun Government) will soon introduce public transport buses. We are working on adjusted work hours and days. We want to make live easy and enjoyable for our people.

“This administration has been working in line with our election promises and the agenda of the party. We are implementing programmers and projects in education, health and infrastructures: what the APC could not achieve in four years, we have achieved in under seven months.

“We have positioned the public service, built roads, bridges and channelization. We have commenced payment of salary and pension debt. I am assuring you that we will not relent to achieve our goal”.

The governor promised to lead an inclusive government that left no one behind when addressing party stakeholders, adding, “We shall all be accommodated. We’ll treat everyone fairly. I value your assistance both then and today. This is the government you have. The results of our labor will be seen by all of us, he assured.

Former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, speaker of the Osun Assembly Adewale Egbedun, and senator Kamarudeen Oyewumi all praised the governor for providing sound leadership throughout his brief tenure in office.

They all emphasized the necessity of love, unity, and focus among party stakeholders in order to maintain the state’s current progress toward high-quality leadership.

Party leaders and supporters from across the state attended the conference, including elected officials from the state and National Assembly.

In his opening remarks, Sunday Bisi, the party chairman, stated that the purpose of the event was to promote party unity and guarantee that the government would not lose sight of its people-centered goal.
