The Ogun State Political Decision Petitions Court has fixed Saturday, September 30, 2023, for judgment in the appeal documented by the People Groups Leftist Alliance and its governorship up-and-comer, Ladi Adebutu, testing the triumph of Abiodun in the Walk 18 governorship political decision.
It was assembled that the court imparted the date to the gatherings on Thursday.
The Ogun Council Secretary, Obioma Ezenta, affirmed this in a call with our journalist.
The Media Associate to the PDP governorship up-and-comer, Afolabi Orekoya, likewise said that the party had been properly informed
The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Hamidu Kunaza, had reserved the judgement shortly after the two parties adopted their written addresses on September 4, 2023.
Adebutu and PDP are challenging the return of Abiodun as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the March 18 governorship election.
Adopting his address, Abiodun’s counsel, Wole Olanipekun (SAN), asked the court to dismiss the PDP petition for lacking in merit and a mere academic exercise.
He noted that the sole petitions of the petitioners were not duly signed and stamped and, therefore lacked merit to be adopted and should be stuck out.
In his counter-argument, Counsel to Adebutu, Chris Uche (SAN) argued that all documents presented by the petitioners were obtained from INEC.
Taking on his last composed address, Uche asked the court to announce the solicitor champ of the governorship political race.
Uche similarly encouraged the court to eliminate a complete number of 40, 871 votes from Abiodun’s surveyed votes and request a rerun in the 99 surveying units where decisions were supposedly disturbed.
“We are exceptionally glad that today we have embraced our last composed addresses on the side of our request. Also, we have asked the court in light of the staggering proof which we have exhorted both orally and documentaryly.
“Furthermore, we are requesting that the court give judgment to the candidates, Ladi Adebutu and PDP, in light of the fact that we have predominantly demonstrated our case. What’s more, for this situation, we have brought every one of the archives ensured by INEC and even observers called by INEC. So we have done our digit, and the matter has been concluded for judgment sometime in the future.”
