I’m Obaseki’s Mole, I Disagree With His Style of Governance – Akpata

Olumide Akpata, a Labour Party candidate for governor in Edo State, has dispelled rumors that he is a candidate for Godwin Obaseki, the state governor, in the governorship race.

The aspirant stated that the governor’s governance style lacks empathy and compassion, which he disagrees with.

In an interview with Arise Television on Tuesday, Akpata stated this.

Even though he is a relative of Obaseki, the Edo governorship candidate stated, “I am not Obaseki’s agent, mole, representative, or anything of any kind.” In 1979, my dad’s senior sibling, Oluwafemi Akpata was a congressperson addressing Bendel South UPN.

The chairman of NPN was his close cousin. They ate each and every other end of the week. Is it true or not that one is the mole of the other? That is the governmental issues we know how to pay. We settle on a truce.

Even though I am his friend and relative, I am able to publicly state that I completely disagree with Obaseki’s governance style. There is no sympathy, no empathy in his style of administration thus we are not in total agreement for however long I am concerned.”

The gubernatorial applicant likewise talked on the explanation he decided to join the race under the Work Party, expressing that it is the main party inspired by the predicament of individuals. Additionally, he stated that Peter Obi’s membership in the party guarantees him that only righteous actions will be taken.

Having joined the Labour Party, I have no regrets. For me, what the party stands for and what it believes in was the focus of due diligence. I was looking for a party that could bring people back into the mix.

“In legislative issues and administration today, individuals have been eliminated from the situation and to that end I have moved forward and when I glanced around, the main stage that praised itself to me, to be keen on the thing individuals are confronting is the work party.

“I beg to say that neither I nor any aspirant is obligated to begin checking to see if any t’s are crossed or i’m dotted with regard to the internal workings of the party.

“In any case, with respect to what the party depend on, I think now like never before is the main party that is keen on the bunches of the Nigerian public and to that end I had no wavering by any means.

“Being a hopeful doesn’t make me an authority of the party, in this way, I couldn’t say whether they have recorded their profits at INEC in regards to how gifts have been directed.

I’ve heard in public about accusations and counter-accusations that our party can really live without. However, the fact that this is Peter Obi’s party is my consolation.

“I mentioned our presidential candidate because, if there is one thing we know about him, it is that he will ensure that the right thing will be done. This is the reason I mentioned him.

Peter Obi is unquestionably a leader. I’m hoping that the right thing will be done so that we can get out of what has turned into a spectacle quickly. We don’t need it at all.

The Labor Party has just entered the race. You assign the burden of proof to the PDP and APC, the dominant parties that have maintained their lip service to the zoning issue. They promote it with regards to the political race cycle and drop it when they are in power.”
