The minister’s extensive background in media, coupled with his academic credentials, including degrees from Uthman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and Bayero University, Kano, underscores his competence for the pivotal role he currently holds. Addressing the allegations on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, the minister clarified that individuals associated with President Bola Tinubu in the crisis shouldn’t implicate the All Progressives Congress government. He stressed the absence of concrete evidence linking the Federal Government to the turmoil in Rivers, asserting, “I’ve not found evidence to suggest that the Federal Government is engineering the crisis.”

Malagi acknowledged the potential for speculation due to the involvement of figures linked to the central government, notably members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. Drawing parallels with political situations in states like Ondo, he highlighted instances where the President had intervened to resolve crises within the same political party.
