Tinubu Appoints Kemi Nandap NIS CG, Ibrahim Gaga NeximBank Director

Kemi Nanna Nandap was appointed as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) yesterday by President Bola Tinubu. The appointment will take effect on March 1, 2024.

Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure ends on February 29, 2024, is replaced by Nandap.

Nandap was the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the Service’s Migration Directorate prior to being appointed Comptroller-General.

The President anticipated that the new Comptroller-General will advance the ongoing changes in the service and provide a strong framework for the effective and committed provision of services to Nigerians, according to a statement released by the presidential spokeswoman, Ajuri Ngelale.

Through proactive and efficient border security and migration management, the new NIS CG is also anticipated to enhance the security of the country.

Furthermore, Tinubu has authorized the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) has appointed Mr. Ibrahim Khalil Gaga as Executive Director, Corporate Services.

Ngelale released a statement stating that Gaga, a lawyer with more than 25 years of expertise in both the banking and legal services sectors, served as the bank’s board secretary and legal adviser prior to his appointment.

“In full support of his administration’s economic development agenda, the President anticipates that Gaga will bring to his new role renewed zeal and diligence to enhance NEXIM’s mandate of providing finance, risk mitigation services, accurate trade and market information, as well as export advisory services to Nigerians,” the statement continued.
