Olympic Qualifications for 2024: South Africa’s Coach Gets Ready for the Super Falcons Trial

Desiree Ellis, the head coach of Banyana Banyana of South Africa, is already anticipating her team’s matchup with Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic Games qualification round.

Next month, the Super Falcons and the African champions will compete for a spot at Paris 2024.

On Friday, April 5, Banyana will go for Nigeria for the first leg of the match. On Tuesday, April 9, the Super Falcons will visit the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria for the rematch.

Ellis believed that her team’s chances of qualifying for the Olympics depended heavily on the outcome of the first leg.

We can’t assume it’s likely. We are aware that we will suffer consequences if we are not focused for the entire ninety minutes.

They could obtain one and stash it away if you don’t take a chance. We must ensure that we outscore them and refuse to give up. Regardless of the team we play, we will create opportunities, but we must take them.
