Easter: Adeleke, Babayemi preach sacrifice, religious harmony
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has urged Christians to utilize Easter celebrations as an opportunity to consider the significance of Jesus Christ’s divine sacrifice.
This was said in the governor’s Easter greeting, which was retrieved in Osogbo on Friday and was signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Adeleke challenged Christian adherents to allow the priceless lessons of Jesus’s sacrifice to constantly be in the back of their minds. Adeleke observed that Easter impressed upon humanity the unfathomable power of love.
Additionally, he exhorted Christians to adhere to the Easter celebration’s core values of love and compassion, saying that with love, “we will not only enjoy a peaceful society, but also make the right progress.”
“Easter is a classical example of the power of love. Jesus Christ, as we are made to know, gave up himself to save mankind from the consequences of their transgressions.
“Beyond the celebration that comes with the moment, it is also a reminder of how love can save, and why we must imbibe the culture of selfless service to humanity as exemplified by Jesus Christ. Let’s be concerned about the good of each other and show tolerance irrespective of our differences.”
In a similar vein, Mr. Dotun Babayemi, a former PDP candidate for governor in the state, expressed optimism in his Easter message that, with everyone working together, the dream of a better Nigeria was attainable.
