Egyptian giants Zamalek have been linked with a move for embattled Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro.
Multiple reports claim that Zamalek are targeting Peseiro as a replacement for sacked Juan Carlos Osorio.
Peseiro has been under intense pressure as Super Eagles coach no thanks to the team’s poor start in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Eagles have managed just two points from a possible six after disappointing draws against Lesotho in Uyo and Zimbabwe in Rwanda.
The poor start to the campaign has led to calls for the former Real Madrid assistant coach to be sacked.
Reacting to the reports of a link to the vacant job at Zamalek, Peseiro in a brief exclusive chat with Al-Watan Sport said: “This is not the appropriate time to talk about all these matters.
“I do not wish to make any comments at the present time, and I refuse to talk about these matters specifically at this time, and I will respond at the time I deem appropriate for that.”
If Peseiro eventually lands the Zamalek job, it will be his second stint in the Egyptian league.
In the 2015/16 season, he was in charge of Zamalek’s rivals Al Ahly.
He led Al Ahly to the league title in his only season at the club.
