The Ogun State Government has stated that a video circulating on social media implying that the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, dodged a handshake with the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, was doctored.

Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, said in a statement on Wednesday that the video came from the opposition and was being shared by false news peddlers.

The state administration insisted that Governor Adeleke and Ooni Ogunwusi had excellent connections.

It further urged the public to dismiss the doctored footage in its entirety, noting that the original videos had been posted for public viewing.

“The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a doctored document,” according to the statement.

Video being shared on social media by opposition operatives and false news peddlers.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke and HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, enjoy the best of relations, as evidenced by the cordial exchange of pleasantries at the Palace of Osemawe of Ondo at Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla’s coronation.”

“We are by this medium appealing to members of the public to disregard the doctored video in its entirety while we have uploaded the original videos for public consumption.”
