After spending Easter with his family, the policeman was assassinated at his home town of Umuoshike Ogbor in the state’s Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, according to police sources.
The inspector was reportedly abducted from his home after arriving from his base in Owerri, and he was later discovered dead in a bush near Mbutu in the neighborhood council.
According to the source, the gunmen in a Lexus jeep kidnapped the cop on April 8 at Aboh Mbaise at 11 p.m.
Further information revealed that the incident had been reported to the Oke Ovoro Police Division, which had later located the abandoned car on the Mbutu Road in Aboh Mbaise.
According to reports, police went to the spot and found the inspector’s body.
Later, the body was placed in a morgue, and his colleague found the car.
Police have started an inquiry, according to ASP Henry Okoye, the police public relations officer who confirmed the occurrence.
