I have forgiven Buhari, says Ortom

Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, declared on Wednesday that he had pardoned Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), the president.

In response to inquiries on “The Morning Show” on Arise Television, Ortom revealed this.

Ortom has criticized the presidency for attributing the murders in the state on his government.

He called the president’s attempts to pin the problem on his administration “futile attempts to twist events and history.”

reporting on pro-politics Nigerians who were displeased with his administration did not accept Buhari’s apology because they did not like him.

The governor stated that he has already forgave the President after citing the Christian Holy Book to support his claims.

He said, “When you don’t forgive, it means God too will not forgive. Me, as a student of the Bible and as a born-again Christian, I have forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Ortom expressed hope for a better performance from the Bola Tinubu administration in the state and the entire country.

“We hope that the incoming administration will provide support, help, security, economic development, and peace for our people.”

“We have suffered for eight years.”

However, he recommended Buhari to stay in Nigeria and work with Tinubu’s administration to bring the state and country up from “bottom to top.”

“He doesn’t need to go to the Niger Republic. He should stay here (in Nigeria) with us. All of us should work with the incoming administration and by the grace of God, we shall go from bottom to top,” he added.
