I’m too old to keep quiet, ethnic division must end – Obasanjo
Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, urged the next administration to look into all options for resolving ethnic divisions that resulted from the 2023 general elections.
Speaking on Thursday in Abuja at a conference with the theme “From Elections to Governance and Performance,” Nexteer and the Ibadan School of Governance and Public Policy, Obasanjo made this claim
The former president stated that he will continue to share his concerns for the welfare of the country since he is now “too old to keep quiet,” given the issues facing the country.
He stated that in light of the division brought on by the recently finished general elections, the new government must seek to promote national moral rearmament and reconciliation.
In order to save the country from its collapsing economy and massive national debt load, he claimed that Nigerian governance now required creative problem-solving. He also added that there needed to be political will and action, as well as administrative efforts, to reform the public service and transform it into a capability-ready unit.
