I’m under pressure to leave Nigeria – Peter Obi
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, claimed that he is under pressure to leave the nation.
Obi made this statement on Wednesday night as he accused the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, and other government organizations of attempting to distract the public from the irregularities that plagued the just-concluded election.
As he spoke about the widely circulated audio clip in which he is purported to be speaking to Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel, he claimed that they are accomplishing this by making bogus accusations against him.
In the video that has drawn attention, Obi implores Oyedepo to back his dream and take action in order to ensure that Christians triumph in the “religious war” taking place in the country’s political arena.
In his reaction, Obi described the recording in circulation as ‘fake’.
“The present attempts by the APC as a party, and the APC led-government through some government officials and agencies to divert our attention from our blatantly stolen mandate is unfortunate and sad.
“These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.
“Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was, a religious war,” Obi said.
