In the aftermath of the local government elections held on October 5, 2024, the Jigawa State Judiciary has officially inaugurated election petition and appeal tribunals to manage disputes arising from the polls. This move aims to ensure a transparent and fair process in addressing grievances related to the election outcomes.

The tribunals are strategically placed across the state’s senatorial districts. According to a statement signed by the Director of Protocol and Publicity of the State Judiciary, Abbas Rufa’i Wangara, each tribunal has been assigned a specific court to operate from.

In the Jigawa North East Senatorial District, proceedings will be held at the Chief Magistrate Court in Hadejia, while the tribunal for the Jigawa North West Senatorial District will convene at the Chief Magistrate Court in Kazaure.
