Rasheed Olawale, a 38-year-old male, has been charged with theft in front of an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

Guinness Brewery Nigeria Plc, a firm, claims that the defendant stole N3.7 million from them.

He was presented to Magistrate H.B. Mogaji on Wednesday for arraignment.

The defendants committed the crime between September 2022 and March 2023, according to the police prosecutor, Inspector Felicia Okwori.

The charge was as follows: “That you, Rasheed Olawale, and others now at large between September 2022 and March 2023 in the Ikeja Magisterial District did steal N3.7m property of Guinness Brewery Nigeria Plc by converting same to your use and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The defendant was given bail by the magistrate, Mogaji, in the amount of N500,000 with matching sureties.

The matter was continued for mention until May 5, 2023.
