Mohammed Ibrahim, 26, was given three months in prison by a Jos area court on Monday for defrauding a Point of Sale operator of N28,000.

The defendant entered a guilty plea to the offense and asked the court for forgiveness before the judge, Mr. Shawomi Bokkos, handed down the punishment.

The judge handed the guilty party the choice of paying a N10,000 fine.

Additionally, he mandated that the offender give the complaint N35,000 in compensation.

The matter was reported to the Jos “C” division police station on May 2 by the POS operator, Mr. Shaibu Mohammed, according to earlier testimony from the police prosecutor, Insp. Ibrahim Gokwat.
