In just a short period of time, the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has already made a significant impact in Nigeria through her tireless service and commitment to improving the country.

One of the significant milestones she has achieved is her involvement in the National Directorate of Employment’s Vocational Skills Development program. This initiative has empowered 758 beneficiaries in 18 states across the six geo-political zones and the Federal Capital Territory. This program provides skills training and links them to financial institutions, which not only creates job opportunities but also promotes entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. 

Furthermore, Onyejeocha has been actively assisting beneficiaries in forming cooperative societies, which provide a support system for mentorship and access to loans. This holistic approach towards employment creation shows the minister’s understanding of the importance of not just job opportunities but also sustainable livelihoods. 

It is commendable that these achievements were made within a few months into the current administration. This remarkable progress is a testament to Onyejeocha’s dedication and drive towards improving the Nigerian economy. In addition to her work with the NDE, Onyejeocha has also spearheaded various initiatives to address youth unemployment in Nigeria.
