PDP leader Chief Bode George complimented President Bola Tinubu’s successful start to his administration, saying it was superior to his tenure as governor of Lagos State from May 1999 to May 2007.

Chief George, a former PDP deputy chairman, gave the compliment on Tuesday’s Politics Today program on Channels Television.

George responded that it is too early to provide a rating when questioned about his evaluation of the first three weeks of Tinubu’s government.

When further questioned about Tinubu’s performance over the previous 22 days as President of Nigeria, the Lagos-based PDP stalwart responded, “It’s not flawless but reasonable. It is certainly an improvement above what we previously knew from when he was in Lagos. Perhaps he was inexperienced at the time because he was so much younger, but Lagos is not Abuja right now.

When asked if he would be willing to collaborate with Tinubu, George replied that, should the President approach him, he would first seek approval from the PDP.

He also reaffirmed his PDP membership and said that despite their long-standing political competition, he is not the president’s enemy.

“The major difference between Bola and I is his methodology, his managerial style, is unlike mine. I have a background in the military and I am a logistician in the military. You don’t carry your men to war without adequately doing your serious planning, intelligence gathering,” the PDP chieftain said.

However, he expressed confidence that his party will prevail in the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, and that Atiku Abubakar, the party’s candidate in the February 25 election, would do the same.

“Let’s wait for the outcome of the judiciary. The process is not over. The day the process is over and the court pronounces him as the President, we have no way to fight but to pray for Nigeria,” he said.
