PDP Inaugurates New Benue Executives Amid Ongoing Party Crisis

Amid growing internal conflicts, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State inaugurated its newly-elected executive members on Thursday. The swearing-in ceremony, held at the party’s state secretariat in New GRA, Makurdi, saw Mr. Chris Abah officially taking office as the state chairman, alongside 14 other members of the State Working Committee (SWC).

Barrister Sam Tsumba administered the oath of office to the new officials on behalf of the Benue PDP Caretaker Committee. Tsumba congratulated the newly-elected executives and expressed hope that their leadership would bring stability and unity to the party.

The new executives, elected during the Benue State PDP Congress on October 3, include key figures such as Deputy Chairman Hon Clement Azuanongo, Secretary Mr. Moses Audu, Youth Leader Saater Atser, and Woman Leader Grace Abine.

In his address, Chairman Chris Abah assured members that his leadership would work tirelessly to restore the PDP’s influence in Benue State. “I accept this great responsibility to reposition the party and call on members with good disposition to rally around the party to bounce back in 2027,” Abah declared, emphasizing the need for unity.
