The deceased’s sister told newsmen that her late brother was asked to repeat his class after a promotional examination which he declined and stopped going to the school Two suspects who allegedly flogged a student to death over absenteeism were arrested and detained by the Police Command in Kaduna State.
The acting Police Advertising Official Kaduna, ASP Mansur Hassan, named the school as Al-Azhar Foundation, a confidential optional school.
He told newsmen in Zaria, on Saturday that the chief of police in Kaduna has requested a careful examination concerning the matter, adding that, more would be captured regarding the demise of the understudy.
In a different meeting with newsmen, an uncle to the departed understudy, Malam Isa Saidu of Kofar Kuyanbana region, Zaria, said his nephew Marwanu Nuhu-Sambo passed on October 20 at Al-Azhar Foundation, a confidential optional school in Zaria.
He added that before his passing, the late Nuhu-Sambo was a JSS 3 (Essential 9) understudy at the school.
As per Saidu, a companion of the dad of the departed returned him to the school and gave him over to the head of the school.
He added that the chief flagellated him in his presence from there on the VP of the school took him to the gathering ground where the departed was lashed again within the sight of different understudies.
“The late understudy was again taken to the essential’s office and flagellated again where he endeavored to take off however was kept from taking off by the school regents.
“He was as yet beaten to the degree that he lost a portion of his teeth and afterward went into a comma and in this manner lost his life,” Saidu said.
In her response, Rukayya Sambo, a sister to the departed, let newsmen know that her late sibling was approached to rehash his class after a special assessment which he declined and quit going to the school.
“He was then taken to the school by one of his uncles and gave over to the school head who promised to rebuff him for slipping away.
“It was after the uncle left the school that the educators connected late Marwanu in a serious beating to the degree they broke his tooth and later killed him,” she said.
As per his classmates, Marwanu was given 100 lashes of the stick at the school get together where his teeth were broken all the while.

Sambo further said that her sibling’s cadaver was deserted close to the school latrine till the school shut, after which the school the executives hurried him to a close by emergency clinic just to be informed that he had kicked the bucket.
