According to the First Lady, Tinubu took the appropriate choices that would enable Nigeria to become a more respected country.
The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to engage in agricultural production in order to improve food security.
This was said by the First Lady on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, when she welcomed Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, to her office at the State House in Abuja.
Adding, “everyone should grow something,” she contended that “we can grow our food.”
Additionally, she clarified that the different initiatives under her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), particularly in the fields of social welfare, education, empowerment, and agriculture, were meant to support President Bola’s efforts.
The First Lady emphasized the significance of energizing young people so they can think critically about the country.
“The President made the appropriate choices. We can create a Nigeria that is more respected with these choices. As a people, we ought to be more responsible with our resources.
“We have to encourage them to prioritize Nigeria over any State,” she continued, stating that in order to do this, she had to organize the #ONE NIGERIA/Unity Fabric through the RHI.
The fabric that represents Nigeria will be designed by young people aged 15 to 25—not only its states or tribes. The award money is enormous,” she remarked.
The President’s wife announced that the RHI has started the monthly food outreach to help lessen the suffering of the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
“I refuse to be discouraged. I’ll keep doing everything I can to help the public,” she continued.
Mohammed, for her part, expressed that the UN anticipated Nigeria allocating more cash to programs that assist young people, women, and girls.
She expressed the UN’s eagerness to collaborate with the RHI, saying, “We need your voice to what the UN is doing with women empowerment, girls, poverty alleviation, education, and the rest.”
The UN Deputy Sec-Gen had the opportunity to present the First Lady to Mohamed Fall, the new UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, during the visit.
