Seyi Tinubu‘s healthcare intervention program is making an impact across Nigeria, with the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Asaba being one of the early beneficiaries. The initiative provides essential drugs and medical supplies to indigent patients, focusing on reducing infant and maternal mortality rates.
Dr. Osiatoma Victor Azubike, Medical Director of FMC Asaba, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, emphasizing its significance in alleviating the economic burden on indigent patients. He noted that the donations would improve access to quality healthcare for those who cannot afford it.
The initiative, “Drug Banks for Indigent Patients in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatric Pharmacy Intervention,” spans 60 hospitals nationwide, aiming to support over 600,000 Nigerians monthly. In addition to medical supplies, it addresses water-related health issues by installing solar-powered boreholes in communities suffering from water shortages.
Dr. Benson Ayodele Cole, the program’s National Coordinator, encouraged the hospital to use the resources effectively to ensure the benefits reach those in need. Furthermore, Dr. Joseph Ajanwenyi, a scholarship recipient, thanked Seyi Tinubu for supporting final-year pediatric residents preparing for fellowship exams, reinforcing the initiative’s broader focus on building a stronger healthcare system.
Pharm. Ojeje Amin Onimisi, representing Seyi Tinubu, urged the team to expedite efforts to ensure all registered hospitals receive assistance on time.
Tinubu’s initiative is becoming a game-changer in Nigeria’s healthcare system, offering immediate support to patients while fostering the development of healthcare professionals, promising a brighter future for the country’s healthcare sector.
