The state capital of Jalingo had an explosion, according to the Taraba State Police Command.

The Police Command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, told reporters that although the anti-bomb squad was still conducting investigations even though the circumstances of the incident were still hazy.

Propolitics learned that the explosion, which is thought to have been caused by an improvised explosive device, occurred at Jika Drinking Spot in Dorowa at 9 p.m.

There were several verified injuries, but there were no fatalities.

Speaking as an eyewitness, Peace Danjuma stated, “Yesterday about 9 o’clock, we were drinking at a local bar named Jika when something detonated under the chair we were sitting on.

“The whole place was filled with smoke while we took to our heels.

“We ran outside for safety but the blast broke my friend’s leg.”
