Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claims that Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has begun giving Ndigbo “a piece of bread soaked in water.”
Tinubu attended a presidential campaign event in Michael Okpara Square back in January.
He asked the attendees at the event to work towards his and the party’s triumph.
Nobody will give you any credit, even though you are working hard and currently perspiring, Tinubu claims.
“We want you to sweat well now for this party until you deliver victory.
“Until Bola Tinubu becomes the President of Nigeria, we will not give you but a soaked sliced bread.”
Nwodo
Nwodo claimed Tinubu was already giving the Igbo the promised “soaked bread” in an exclusive interview on Monday.
He said so in response to the idea that Igbo were left out of Tinubu’s 14-person inaugural committee.
Former governor of Enugu State Nwodo claimed that any Nigerian president who does not make conscious attempts to bring the country’s ethnic groupings together will fail miserably.
He also lamented the frequent attacks in Lagos State on Igbo, who he claimed were being punished for casting their ballots according to their conscience in the general elections.
