At the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with traditional leaders and their delegates from all around the nation.
The meeting on Friday is one of many that the President has had since taking office on May 29 with important stakeholders from the executive, legislative, corporate, and traditional institutions.
As he emphasized in his inaugural speech, Tinubu is anticipated to address issues of national healing and togetherness at the closed-door meeting.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, who led his counterparts to the conference, said in his opening remarks that the traditional leaders had visited the President to congratulate him and to pledge their support in his difficult work of nation-building.
The Sultan said that the traditional rulers’ council is full of experts in many different sectors, making it a valuable resource from which the President may draw knowledge.
He added that the traditional leaders were confident in Tinubu’s abilities to move Nigeria toward growth and promised to help him turn his renewed hope agenda into workable laws.
On his part, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Adewusi, urged President Tinubu to make more “use” of the traditional rulers to address insecurity.
“Mr. President, use us. Use us. Use us,” the monarch said.
