In a significant shift, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has declared that President Tinubu’s administration will prioritize merit, competency, and adherence to the federal character principle in all appointments.
During a reception honoring recent appointees by President Tinubu, including Pastor Raymond Omachi and Dr. Vincent Isegbe, Senator Akume emphasized the importance of recognizing Nigeria’s diversity for unity and progress.
Akume assured Nigerians that President Tinubu’s appointments aim to revive the economy and improve citizens’ living standards, with excellence and merit as key criteria. He emphasized the end of appointment racketeering, stressing that only qualified individuals capable of driving economic growth will be considered.
The newly appointed officials and other speakers at the event expressed gratitude to the President and pledged to contribute their professional expertise to advance the administration’s renewed hope agenda.
