Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ winner Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has declared that it was his own financial resources, rather than fan support, that propelled him forward in the All Stars edition of the reality show.
In a candid conversation with YouTuber Olufemi Daniel, Whitemoney revealed that he was not surprised by his eventual eviction, as he had anticipated that he would not win. He shared that he had personally funded his campaign by providing money to his team for voting.
Whitemoney, who has also ventured into a singing career, emphasized that fan votes constituted only a minor portion of the support he received. He claimed that only two percent of the votes came from fans, while his financial contributions played a significant role in his progression in the competition.
“I wasn’t shocked [when I got evicted] because I knew I wouldn’t win,” Whitemoney stated. “I was the one who gave money to my team to keep subscribing. My money took me that far. People’s voting was just two percent, my money took me that far.”
This revelation sheds light on the behind-the-scenes efforts that participants sometimes undertake to stay in the game, highlighting the significant impact of personal investment in reality TV show outcomes.
